A fall day around Innisfil
Pick-your-own pumpkins and a corn maze, Earl Rowe Provincial Park, a local market, and a honey farm
Start with pick-your-own pumpkins and a corn maze at Avalon Orchards, then Earl Rowe Provincial Park a few minutes on, taste the honey at Ontario Honey Creations, and finish at the Innisfil market. 4 stops, none more than 32 km apart, all around Innisfil.
- 1
Pick the patch · Innisfil
Avalon Orchards
A certified-organic orchard where you pick disease-resistant apple varieties off the tree, then wander woodland trails past the creek and pond to look for beavers and great blue herons. They press their own cider.
- 2
Shop and refuel · Innisfil
Innisfil Farmers' Market
Set up at the Stroud arena grounds, drawing about forty growers and artisans selling produce, honey, maple syrup, eggs, mushrooms, cured meats, and baked goods, with live music and room for kids to roam.
- 3
Walk it off · Tosorontio
Earl Rowe Provincial Park
Two beaches and a pool on a dammed stretch of the Boyne River, with canoe and paddleboat rentals, over twenty kilometres of trail, and a fish ladder where you can watch trout and fall salmon run.
- 4
Taste local honey · Mulmur
Ontario Honey Creations
A woman-run apiary and meadery on Airport Road that runs hands-on hive tours: suit up, look inside a working hive, and walk through the honey house. The shop pours raw honey and naturally fermented mead, with KuneKune pigs on the property.
