How the math works
Volume is area times depth. We take your bed in square feet, multiply by the depth in feet, and convert to cubic yards (the unit bulk yards are sold and delivered in): one cubic yard is twenty-seven cubic feet and covers about a hundred square feet at three inches deep. Bag counts use the standard bag size for each material. Order about ten percent extra for settling and uneven ground.
