Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 85 g dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp salt
- Whipped cream, optional
Steps
- Whisk 1 cup milk with the cocoa powder and maple syrup in a saucepan until smooth.
- Whisk in the remaining milk and set over medium heat.
- Heat until steaming, stirring often, but do not boil.
- Add the chopped chocolate, vanilla, and salt, then whisk until smooth.
- Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream if using.
Notes
For a darker cup, add another tablespoon of cocoa. For children, let the mugs stand a minute before serving.
